Walas is an Uruguayan based musician who has been involved in the music scene since the early 1990s as a producer, sound designer, film and theatrical composer, and remixer.

Guided by experimentation as his main focus, he's worked alongside critically acclaimed acts and solo artists from the Uruguayan and Latin-American scene, and has delivered numerous remixes for artists from across the globe such as Fernando Santullo, Antonio Birabent, Diego Martino, The New Division, Neil Davidge and more.
In two consecutive years (2013-2014) he was the recipient of the Graffiti Awards (the most prestigious music award in Uruguay).

His new LP, “El Otro” ("The Other") is a sonic experimental journey, exposing a wide range of musical and technical influences which includes several guest artists and collaborations. Each song from this 9-track LP has been masterfully crafted, converging the many musical influences that Walas, as a good audiophile, has developed as his signature sound over the years.

Walas es un músico nacido en Uruguay que ha estado involucrado en el mundo de la música desde los noventa a través de diferentes aspectos tales como productor, diseño sonoro, compositor de música para cine, obras de teatro, documentales, también como remixer, y siempre focalizado en la experimentación. Ha trabajado con unos cuantos de los mejores grupos y solistas de la escena de Uruguay y Latinoamérica y ha hecho remixes para artistas de todo alrededor del mundo tales como Fernando Santullo, Antonio Birabent, Diego Martino, The New Division, Neil Davidge etc. Ganó dos años consecutivos (2013-2014) los Premios Graffiti (los premios más importantes a la música Uruguaya).

Toda esta mezcla de experiencias lo han hecho emprender desde el pasado año el proceso de grabación de su nuevo disco próximo a salir llamado “El Otro”, donde, a través de un viaje sonoro ecléctico, expone una amplia gama de influencias tanto musicales como técnicas acompañado de un gran grupo de artistas invitados donde cada canción ha sido compuesta y producida pensando en el mejor resultado artístico, basado en el estilo estético de cada artista y donde convergen muchas de las influencias musicales que Walas, como buen melómano, , ha sabido incorporar a través de estos años.
